The The Witcher series is a hearing success for Netflix and even before the broadcast of the second season (at the end of last year), the SVOD platform had confirmed having ordered a third. On social networks, the platform confirms that the production of this third season began on March 31, while the filming team is already gathered in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. It is still unclear when this third season will be broadcast (probably not before the end of the year), but already, Netflix publishes an official synopsis of the season:
“_Alors that the monarchs, the mages and the beasts of the continent are resolved to capture it, Geralt Cache Ciri de Cintra, determined to protect his newly reunited family against those who threaten to destroy her.
Charge of the magic training of Ciri, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to learn more about the still untapped powers of the young woman. They will have to defend yourself and put everything in play – at the risk of getting lost forever.
Lauren Schmidt Hissrich who again endorses his role of showrunneuse of the series, had already indicated that this new chapter of the series was inspired by the time of contempt, the second novel of the Saga of the _ WITCHER _ of the novelist Andrzej Sapkowski. This third season will clearly be an opportunity to find the distribution of the previous ones, Henry Cavill in the title role alongside Freya Allan in the role of Ciri and Anya Chalora in that of Yennefer.
For the record, in parallel with this third season, Netflix also works on a spin-off, the series The Witcher: Blood Origin which takes place 1200 years before the events of the main series and revolves around the formation of the first witcher.
