The Bundesliga game of the FSV Mainz 05 at FC Augsburg is relocated due to the massive corona outbreak in the Mainz team. The German Football League (DFL) took place on Thursday to a corresponding request of the Rheinhessen. A replacement date should be announced “as soon as possible”.
“We would all preferred to play football on Saturday. But we are facilitated that the DFL has followed our application. This is a decision in the sense of the fair competition and the health of the players,” said FSV corona outbreaks council Christian Heidel.
Most recently, Mainz had reported the 20th coronafall. Due to the outbreak, the home game planned for the past Sunday against Borussia Dortmund had already been relocated to the 16th of March.
For the discharge of a game, according to the DFL gaming order, at least 16 playful actors are necessary, of which at least nine license players to which a goalkeeper must be. Blocked and injured players are considered “available”.
